Tattoo Candy 7 hits the shelves!
I’m happy and relieved that Tattoo Candy 7 is now out in all good newsagents! Every year we receive submissions from hundreds of Australian and New Zealand artists, and every year without fail the level of artistry hit another level. A big thank you to everyone who submitted work, because without the support of all the great artists included, and also those who may not have made the pages, we wouldn’t be able to create these books. If you are looking for it and cannot find it anywhere, drop an email to sales@tattoosdownunder.com.au and we will do our best to help you get your hands on one!

NZ Tattoo & Art Festival 2012
Even though it’s still 12 months away, the hype around next years NZ Tattoo & Art Festival in New Plymouth on New Zealand’s North Island is already buzzing. We were lucky enough to attend the convention last year, and I can easily say that it was the most enjoyable tattoo convention I have been to in Australia or New Zealand hands down, and I can only see it growing to become the premier convention for this corner of the globe. With some the worlds most respected names in tattooing confirmed to be attending, it looks like the picturesque seaside town of New Plymouth is again going to turn it on for those who make the trip. Some of the already confirmed artists are Jack Mosher, Dan Smith, Chad Koeplinger, Steve Byrne, Sabado, Mario Desa and David Cavalcante, Australians Clint Steele, Rachi Brains, Alison Manners, Owen Williams, Nathan Puata, Brett Hayes,…

Melbourne Tattoo & Body Art Expo- Directed by Steve Guzman
Sydney based photographer and videographer Steve Guzman recently posted this video he directed from the first Melbourne Tattoo & Body Art Expo. Its an amazing edit that really captures the atmosphere that was around for the weekend. He managed to squeeze in some amazing work from the supremely talented Sam Clark, Steve Cross, and a really nice insight into Dr. Rev’s groundbreaking “straight from the vein” bloodpainting that caused a good stir. Check out the video below!

Tattoo Age: Freddy Corbin, Part 1
Ive been looking forward to this one. In the first installment of the Freddy Corbin series, we get familiar with Freddy’s tattoos as well as see his two Oakland tattoo parlors, Temple and Tattoo 13. Freddy’s style is further explained by his right hand man and fellow tattooer, Jason Mcafee. We also got a chance to speak with another Oakland legend, pro skater and chopper guy, Max Schaaf, about understanding Mr. Corbin’s coolness.
